ぼうっと

1 〔ぼんやりしているようす〕 in a dazed [an absentminded, a distracted, a preoccupied] manner; dazedly; blankly; absentmindedly.

●ぼうっとした頭 〔鈍い〕 a thick head; 〔もうろうとした〕 a muddled head

・ぼうっとなる 〔喪心して〕 be stunned; be stupefied; 〔うっとりとして〕 be fascinated; be spellbound; be entranced; be in a daze.

●時には何もせずぼうっとして過ごすのも悪くない. Sometimes it's not bad to spend time just lazing about, doing nothing.

・ぼうっとしているうちに夏休みも終わってしまった. As I idled the days away, the summer holidays came to an end.

・あいつはいつもぼうっとした顔をしている. He always has a preoccupied [distracted, blank, vacant] look on his face.

・霧が深くて向かい側の家もぼうっとしか見えなかった. The fog was so thick that the houses across the street were mere phantoms [showed only mistily through it].

・部屋の中がぼうっと明るくなった. The inside of the room became dimly lit up.
